Gift
aid is a tax relief on money you donate/donated to HMCC. The donations
are treated as having already been tax deducted at a basic rate by the government.
HMCC is a registered charity and can reclaim this tax from the
government which increases the value of your donation.
For every £100 you
donate, we can reclaim £28 on top of your donation from the government.
This will mean you have actually donated £128. The government is merely
giving back the tax you have already paid. ALL charity donations are
tax exempt.
You must be
employed and pay UK income tax and/or capital gains tax to cover the
amount of tax the charity will reclaim upon a completed gift aid form.
The Form has;
- Your name
- Your home address
- The charity’s name (HMCC)
- Details of the
donation indicating that it is a gift aid donation
- Confirmation that you have paid UK tax.
The tax reclaim can
be backdated for up to 6 years prior to the date of the gift aid form
completed, provided the donation was made since 6 April 2000. Please
download the form
and send to us via post or e-mail at donations@hmcc-uk.org
